Gears Of War 3 is an online multiplayer game or single player game with a campaign (story mode) as well. The game was developed by Epic Games and also had two prequels which are gears of war and gears of war 2.

The game is only available on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 games console and pcs as it is published by Xbox.

The producers are Chris Wynn and Rod Ferguson. The release date for this game was September 20/09/2011. The game genre is a third person shooter and it has a rating of 18 years and above. The game has been worldwide advertised over television programmes through Xbox live, game conferences such as E3 which is worldwide and through Epic Game. The level of game difficulty can be adjusted from casual for first time users, to insane for people who are very good with third person shooter game types.

The game has many functions when installed. The campaign is 6 chapters long with up to seven acts per chapter. This also has four difficulty settings which are casual, normal, hardcore and insane.

The online aspect of the game goes in to much more depth with multiplayer consisting of various game modes such as beast mode, horde mode, team death match, execution, warzone, wing man, king of the hill, and capture the leader mode.

There are also various characters to select from such as all the original gears of war characters and many new

characters. These are all unlockable as you work your way through the game. There is also a large amount of unlockables throughout the game from mutators to executions, ribbons, and medals.

The mutators which are unlockable through carrying out certain moves online are only available on beast and horde mode. There are fourteen in total. The executions are all unlockable after earning so many kills with each weapon type. This can be done in online or offline mode and there is twenty four in total to unlock.

There is a huge amount of ribbons top unlock as you battle online or offline. These can be earned through each game type. There are also a vast amount of medals which range through bronze to onyx. Onyx is the highest level for the medals as you progress through your online or offline game play.
